Lay down the new tape Little by little close to the edge that where the rubber seal sits. Then alcohol and water solution to clean before new 3m tape. I used a full chisel and adhesive remover to scrape off the old ds tape, took several applications and passes of scraping to get clean. You'll obviously find a bunch.of gunk to clean. Be prepared to either spray or go easy with the screws some can be rusted, strips very easily. This needs to be removed to access the screws that hold in the metal windshield part. Then you can essentially just peel it off towards the front.
